Special Educational Needs

How we support children with SEND

At Busy Bees we regularly review each child’s development. From these assessments we are able to ensure we are offering each child the individual support that they require.

One main part of our assessments is the two year check, carried out by Key Workers and the Parent/Guardians of the children. These meetings help to discuss a child’s development, any concerns that may arise and also allows us the opportunity to offer early intervention, with hope for better results regarding development.

Key Workers plan next steps for each child based on their development and interests. These help to support and encourage the children to develop. Small group activities help to assist in the development plans for the children.

Individual Education Plans are created with input from a child’s Key Worker, Parents/Guardians and the setting SENCO. These are reviewed regularly and changes made as required to continue a child’s development.

If thought necessary and with the Parent/Guardian’s permission the SENCO will gather advice from other professionals such as the Health Visitor, Children’s Centres and our Early Years Coordinator.
Busy Bees’ SENCO is Bev Hughes, all staff are able to receive help and support from Bev and if you as a parent require any help, support or guidance regarding your child’s development, please contact her.
