Welly Walk

Between showers this morning, we took a group of children for a welly walk to the stream on New Mills.  At circle time, we had been thinking about the weather with the children commenting on how "rainy and windy" it had been.  We were wondering where all the water goes so decided to investigate outdoors.

We decided that we needed to wear our wellies and coats in case it started to rain again.  We were all excited to begin our walk!

We listened carefully to the sounds around us.  We heard the birds singings, cars in the distance, the school children out playing and the sound of our wellies on the ground.

We stopped to watch the small waterfall at the stream.  It was running faster than usual "because it's been raining" said Jessica.  The bubbles from the waterfall travelled from one side of the bridge to the other "they're going under" said Kiera.

We decided it was time to go back to Busy Bees.  Maisie decided it was "time for lunch soon"

"It's starting to rain" said Sequoia.  We held out our hands and felt the raindrops.

On our way back, we spotted the beautiful blossom on the tree.  We noticed it blowing from the tree in the wind and took some back to Busy Bees for the other children to see.

"It's very steep up here" said Jessica as we walked back.

We had a lovely time on our walk.  We hope you've enjoyed reading all about it!
