Pattern Walk

We have recently been thinking all about patterns and today our Butterfly group ventured out in the community to hunt for patterns. On our walk into town, we spotted a metal grid which had a honeycomb pattern, striped wooden fences and a square patterned piece of trellis.

In Ledbury town, there were plenty of patterns all around - the children were fantastic at drawing our attention to spots, stripes, repeat patterns and engravings.  The patterns we found on the Shell House Gallery were particularly impressive.

We spent some time looking at the patterns on the outside of the Market House with the children noticing the squares and triangles.  When we stood under the Market House, we all looked up to see the stripes above us.  There were even stripes to be found in the bakery!

Up the cobbled Church Lane we walked on our way to the Church.  Inside the Church, we looked at the beautiful patterns on the stained glass windows as well as patterns to be found on the pews, font and flagstones.

We were delighted to hear such lovely comments from members of the public about how beautifully the children were behaving.  Well done, Busy Bees!
