Stay and Play - Summer Term (2)

On Wednesday morning, we held our fnal stay and play session of this school year.  It coincided with our 'Marlon Day' so it was a great opportunity for parents, siblings and other family members to meet the notorious Marlon.  Although some parents were already aware of Marlon, some were unsure who or what he was.  We explained that he is a green, round soft toy who is a friend to everyone.  He has been so popular with the children all year that it didn't seem right to end the year without a Marlon celebration.

The morning started with a special circle time where Marlon was used for circle games, encouraging the children to listen and join in with the songs.  Afterwards, decorating biscuits to look like Marlon was a popular activity.  Some of them were very accurate indeed!

There were also opportunities to explore the green rice, thinking about ways to move it between the bottles.  Children and parents could decorate paper plates to look like Marlon too.  Holly did a great job of face painting and the children were delighted to see themselves look like Marlon.
