Firework Safety

On Friday 3rd November, PCSO Alexander and PCSO Barson came to talk to us about firework safety.  Although we had talked about how pretty and fun fireworks can be, it was also important to reinforce the danger.

During our talk, we learned to stand well back from the fireworks and bonfire to avoid getting burned.  Mollie suggested that we could wear gloves whilst holding sparklers to protect our hands and then we thought about what to do with the sparklers once they'd finished.  PCSOs Alexander and Barson went through the firework code and explained that sparklers need to go in a bucket of cold water once they've gone out.

PCSO Alexander asked the children if they had pets and went on to talk about how animals can be scared of the loud bangs.  Cody thought his "baby" might be scared too.

Afterwards, PCSOs Alexander and Barson asked us some questions to see if we remembered what they'd told us.  We did really well and remembered everything!

Thank you to PCSO Alexander and PCSO Barson for visiting us.
