Sound of the Week - w/c 16th July 2012

The sound of the week for the coming week will be 'a'.  Have you got anything your child could bring in beginnning with this sound?  We might see:

* an alligator

* an apple

* an avacado

* an ambulance

As always, we really appreciate parents help with our Phonics sessions.  The children enjoy showing staff and children what they have brought in from home.

Last Week of Term

Please be aware that w/c 16th July is our last preschool week at Busy Bees.  Holiday club will begin from 23rd July.  Although we have lots of children staying with us still in September, we do have some leaving to go to School and Nursery.  We will be having parties on Thursday and Friday to celebrate the end of the year and to say goodbye to the children.  Donations of food would be very much appreciated, thank you.

Olympic Week at Busy Bees

The children have had lots of fun so far this week learning about the Olympics.  They have made trophies and medals, decorated athletes, made Olympics torches, painted the Olympic rings and lots, lots more.  This afternoon we were very disappointed that we could not hold our Sports Day as planned due to a very wet field.  However, the children did manage a few running races before the rain began.  If the children are still interested in the Olympics then we will continue with this next week too.

Out to Play Event - 8th August 2012

Ledbury in Bloom Judging

This Thursday, Ledbury will be visited by Heart of England judges as part of Ledbury in Bloom.  The judges will be visiting Busy Bee's Wildflower Garden at 10:45am. We will be taking a small group of children to the garden for the judging.

The children have worked very hard on the 'Budding Talent' project so far and have helped to clear the weeds, dig the flower beds, rake the soil and plant the wildflower seeds.  This week they have been decorating animal pictures and flowers to take up to the site to brighten it up.
