Olympic Torch - May 24th 2012

 Yesterday we enjoyed a very memorable occasion when the Olympic Torch passed through Ledbury. Busy Bees children watched as the convoy passed through followed by the Olympic Torch.  They had lots of fun waving their flags, banners and balloons and cheering with the rest of the crowd.  In the afternoon, we joined Ledbury Primary School on the school field for a games afternoon.  The children behaved wonderfully all day and we are very proud of all of them.

Fruity Friday - 25th May

This coming Friday will be Fruity Friday.  We would like your child to bring in a piece of fruit to Busy Bees - this could be their favourite fruit or something they haven't tried before but like the look of.  The children will talk about the fruit at circle time, exploring what it looks like, smells like and feels like.  The fruit will then be prepared by a member of staff and the children will be eating it for snack.  As our snack is a cafe style snack, the children are able to help themselves and put a selection on their plate to try.  We are always very imp

Ledbury in Bloom Wildflower Garden

Work on our Ledbury in Bloom plot is coming along well.  The majority of the weeds have been cleared and falled trees have been removed.  Some of the perished weed control fabric has been pulled up and new fabric laid.  The wood around the pathways has been replaced and chipped bark has been laid to define the paths.  It is hoped that the children will soon be able to visit the site to plant the Wildflower seeds we have from the Royal Horticultural Society.

Olympic Torch

This Thursday (24th May) we will be walking into Ledbury to watch the Olympic Torch pass through.  We are hoping to leave at 9:15am and will be returning at approximately 10:45am.  Should you wish to contact us during this time, you can use the mobile number: 07584 514 147.

The children are welcome to wear red, white and blue on the day.

Should you wish to join us, our designated area is in front of St Katherines Hall in the High Street.

School Allotment

Today, we started work on our plot on the school allotment.

Letters and Sounds - w/c 14/05/12

The sound of the week for w/c 14th May will be 'j'.  What items will we see the children bring in this week?

* Jigsaw

* Jumper

* Jack in the Box

* Jug

We really do appreciate the support from parents with our sound of the week.  The children enjoy showing what they have brought in from home.
