'Growing Up' at Busy Bees

To follow on from our 'Baby' week, next week the children will be thinking all about 'Growing Up'.

Baby Visit

We are very excited to be having a baby visit Busy Bees tomorrow morning to cooincide with our 'Babies' week.  The children have really enjoyed looking at each other's baby photos and staff members baby photos and one child commented that they would like to meet a 'real baby'.  Tomorrow will help reinforce the learning from across the week when they get to see a 'real baby' and ask his Mummy some questions.

Forest School Session 08.05.12

Forest School sessions for the Summer Term began today.  The group of children participating were very enthusiastic and listened well throughout.  We played log circle games including '123 Where Are You?'  and we talked about the Forest School boundaries.  The children enjoyed a scavenger hunt and introductions to 'Jack and Boo's Wild Wood' which we will be exploring more next week.  Next week, we will be using clay and woodland resources to make creatures or characters from the book.  Don't forget your wellies and waterproofs!

Changes to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)

As you might be aware, the revised, simpler framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) was published on 27 March 2012, for implementation from September 2012.

Safeguarding Information for Parents and Carers

Busy Bees @ LPS have produced a leaflet detailing how we keep your child safe during their time at Busy Bees.

Included on this leaflet is also some information on how you can help us with promote Safeguarding and children's welfare.  Please take a look under the Parent Info tab on this website or click on the link below.  The leaflet should be used in conjunction with our Safeguarding policy and Whistleblowing policy in particular.  We will make hard copies available at Busy Bees for parents to take away should they wish.

Letters and Sounds w/c 7th May

Our sound of the week for next week will be 'r'.  Have you got an item at home you could bring in which begins with this sound?  We might have.......

We look forward to seeing what you and your child bring in!

Tempest Photography

Tempest Photography are visiting on Wednesday 9th May from 9am.  If you would like your child to have their photo taken but it is not their usual session, then you can book a time slot.

Forest School Information

This term, we will be reading 'Jack and Boo's Wild Wood' written by Philip Bell for our Forest School sessions.  An information leaflet has been prepared which gives examples of some of the activities the children will be enjoying as well as safety information and possible learning.

PE at Busy Bees

Busy Bees are having PE sessions on a Thursday morning.  Originally this was for a small group  consisting mostly of preschool children.  However, it seems that there is a lot of demand for PE as we have had several parents ask about their child participating too.  Because of this, we will now have PE every Thursday for all children attending the session.

'Growth' at Busy Bees - planting bulbs and seeds

The children at Busy Bees have had lots of fun this afternoon planting tulip bulbs in our garden.
